Carol Liebergen, age 70 of Kaukauna, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 26, 2018 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. Carol was born February 24, 1948, daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Klika) Aerts.
Carol enjoyed visits to the casino, playing cards, chatting on the phone, and spending time with family and friends.
Carol is survived by three children: Kim (Marvin) Winkler of Wrightstown; Brian (Amy) Liebergen of Appleton; and Jamie Liebergen of Wrightstown; four grandchildren: Payton and Preston Winkler and Jakob and Owen Liebergen; a brother: Leo (Mary) Aerts of Wrightstown; two sisters: Norma Aerts of Wrightstown and Rose (Don) Coenen of DePere; three brothers-in-law: Gordy (Bonnie) Liebergen of Greenleaf, Ron Smith of Wrightstown, and Ben Rottier of DePere; three sisters-in-law: Anna Schmidt of Kaukauna, Theresa Rozemarenoski of DePere, and Mary Aerts of Wrightstown. Carol is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands Jerry VerBockel and Melvin Liebergen, her siblings: Ron Aerts, Mary Jane Smith, Jerry (Bonnie) Aerts, and Dennis Aerts; and in-laws Earl Schmidt, Ray Rozemarenoski, and Mary Jane Rottier.
The funeral liturgy for Carol will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Kyle Sladek officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown. Family members and friends are invited to gather directly at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many caregivers that have meant so much during this time. They include Dr. Travis Kroner, the staff and nurses at Appleton’s ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, her many friends and staff members at Matthews of Darboy and Kindred Hearts in Kaukauna, as well as everyone at Fresenius Dialysis Center for all of your care and compassion over the years.
