Age 75, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2001, at Franciscan Care Center following complications caused by cancer. Carmen was born on May 16, 1925, in Greenville, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Staudinger) Rathsack. Carmen married James W. Mullins on December 27, 1944, together they owned and operated Jim’s Place for over twenty years. She was a member of the Appleton Moose Lodge. Carmen enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her children, Denny (Lee) Mullins, Kay (LeRoy) Remme, Jeff (Barb) Mullins, Dale Mullins, Jay (Cheryl) Mullins, Chris Mullins; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a special friend, Dick Remmel. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Quintin “Bud” Rathsack and a sister, Elaine Matuszck. Funeral liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2001, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, the Rev. John Holly, OFM Cap. officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. A memorial fund is being established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Swanson, the staff of Appleton Medical Center 4th floor South and Hospice for their dedicated care.
