Carl Sylvester Sengstock, age 89, passed willingly and lovingly into the arms of the Lord with the love and support of his family by his side, on Wednesday November 20th, 2024. Carl was born on October 14th, 1935 to Harvey and Lulu Sengstock in Appleton, WI. Carl married Patricia Mae Senecal (d December 30, 2018) on May 4th 1957. They were happily married for over 61 years and had five sons.
Carl attended Appleton High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and Reserve Marine Corps from 1954 to his honorable discharge in 1963 as Sergeant. Carl was a real estate investor and professional in the Fox Valley area for most of his professional life prior to retiring in 1995. Carl loved to travel with Pat in their RV, visiting all corners of the country, but was always excited to come home to Appleton to spend time with family and friends. Carl also had a passion for spending time outdoors, especially golfing and gardening.
Carl was a devoted husband, a compassionate and loving father and grandfather. He led his life guided by a set of core values around honesty, respect and caring for everyone he interacted with.
Carl will be greatly missed by his children Dr. Gregory (d Paula, Susan) of North Augusta, SC; Jeffrey (Linda) of Raleigh, NC; Russel of Appleton; Dean (Jodi) of Lakeville, MN. Grandchildren: Courtney (Matt Lombardi), Alexander Sengstock, Justin Sengstock, Blake Sengstock, Ella Sengstock, Jackie (Jake) Jansen, Janelle Gosz.
Great grandchildren: Lawson, Carrigan and McKenna Lombardi, Beau, Emmarie and Marlee Jansen, along with many nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Mae Senecal (2018), son Randal Sengstock, (2015); daughter-in law Paula Spurrell Sengstock, (2021); beloved sisters, brothers and in-laws, Mary Louise (Vern) Gerrits, Shirley Elaine (John) James, Beatrice Sengstock; Ronald (Jane) Sengstock, Eugene Sengstock, Richard (Grace) Sengstock; god daughters Brenda Wood (Sengstock) and Debbie King (Gerrits).
Per Carl's wishes a private service along with military honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery followed by a celebration of life in the summer of 2025.
