Mueller, Carl A.

Carl A. Mueller, age 90, passed away, Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Franciscan Care Center. He was born July 14, 1917, to the late Louis and Bertha (Kopplin) Mueller, in Portage, where he graduated from Portage High School in 1935. Carl attended the Madison Business College. He served with the U. S. Army during WW II, from 1941 – 1945, in Africa and Europe, received seven Battle Stars, the Bronze Star and others and was discharged with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Following his discharge he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Carl then was employed as a bank examiner for the F.D.I.C. for 4 years. Following this he was employed by A.A.L., for 32 years, retiring in 1985 as Director of Corporate Accounting. Carl was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served as church treasurer and taught Sunday school. Survivors include his wife, Nancy J. (Van Vechten) Mueller, to whom he had been married for 53 years; two sons, Daniel (Cynthia) Mueller, Combined Locks; Thomas (Cheryl) Mueller, Appleton; a daughter, Barbara (James) Kusilek, River Falls, WI; three grandchildren, Christopher and Kelsey Mueller, Appleton, Bailey Kusilek, River Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, John and Blanche Mueller and William Mueller in infancy, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Mueller and Mary and John Bullock. Funeral services for Carl will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 22, 2007, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 East Glendale Avenue, with Reverends Leon Knitt and Daniel Thews officiating. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 am, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for The Wisconsin Parkinson’s Association, 945 North 12th Street. Milwaukee, WI 53233.
