October 19, 2024, Willis, Calvin Lee of Greenville, WI, formerly of Lowell, MA and Binghamton, NY, age 75, passed away at home at 7:42 AM while listening to Willie Nelson's "Amazing Grace". He was in the company of his loving wife of 22 years, Roberta "Miss Daisy" Jones, his care angel and stepdaughter, Carolyn Baker, and his two faithful feline companions, Hunter and Jojo.
Born in Medford, MA January, 25, 1949 to the late George Edmund Willis and the late Gladys Maud Guy, Calvin’s formative years were spent in West Medford, MA and Binghamton, NY.
He was a gifted conversationalist, his wide smile and engaging laugh undoubtedly brightened the days of many of those he encountered. He was a skilled machinist and an avid wrestling fan, who loved fishing, horses, music (especially R&B, Motown and Jazz), and a good horror movie.
Calvin is also survived by stepchildren and their spouses Carolyn Baker and Jerry Holm, Carl and Susan Pennor, Jenni Jones, and Christine and David Hanshaw. He was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Norman Hassan, Amera and Thomas Kiel, Mitchell Pennor, and Aidan Methvin. He was affectionately known as the “Grandpoopa” by his 3 great grandchildren, Melina, Meredith and Elijah Kiel. He also gathered many special friends along his journey.
A private service was held in his honor.
Our love knows no boundaries: I trust you with my heart, no matter the distance. Rest peacefully “Hoke”. I will forever be your “Daisy”.
