Wilding, Buford L.
Buford L. Wilding, age 83, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, January 5, 2005. Buford was born at Park Falls, Wisconsin, to Arthur and Mattie (Davis) Wilding on May 31, 1921. They lived in Tripoli until Buford was 7 years old and then the family moved to Neillsville, where he grew up. He married Margaret Gemmeke on August 28, 1940. Buford was an active member (Trustee Emeritus) at The Church Of The Open Door, in Milwaukee, for more than 45 years. He joined the Steamfitters Local #601 in October 1952, received his 50 Year Pin and Award in October 2002 and continued his membership until his death. He was a certified Navy Welder at Allis Chalmers, Milwaukee, and worked on the Manhattan Project in 1944. Buford was an M. P. in the Air Force from February 1945 until June 1946 serving in the Philippines during WW II. Buford and Margaret both committed their lives to Jesus Christ in 1946. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Margaret; four children, Douglas (Mary), Dennis (Donna), Karen (Joe) Visocky and David; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Buford will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 8, 2005, with Reverend Larry Creamer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am, Saturday, until the time of the service. Graveside services will be held at the Neillsville Cemetery at 3:30 pm, Saturday.
