Bruce K. "Coop" Nickles

February 20, 1959 — September 10, 2021

Bruce “Coop” Nickles, age 62, passed away on Friday September 10, 2021. Coop was born on February 20, 1959 in Appleton to Mark and Eleanor (Saunders) Nickles.

Coop was employed at Badger Printing Corporation for 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, sturgeon spearing, golfing and hunting in the northwoods at the “Blowsnake” in Conover, WI; and then Coop would go fishing again. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends…Coop was happiest outdoors.

Coop is survived by his life partner Debra Engleman, siblings Mark Nickles, Patricia Konz, Steve (Pam) Nickles, Colleen Nickles, and Christopher (Michelle) Nickles. Coop will also be missed by his furry felines Rizzo and Marley.

Coop is further survived by his nieces and nephews; Jason (Shannon) Konz, Ben Konz, Ross Konz, Chelsea (Zac) Burns, Kristen (Cameron) Woulf, Travis (Ashlie) Springstroh, and Justin (Makayla) Springstroh.

Coop has joined his parents Mark and Eleanor and his brother Glen in Heaven.

In accordance with Coop’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a prayer for Coop and his family would be most appreciated at this time or a memorial in Coop’s name to the Fox Valley Humane Association.

Coop’s family would like to extend a thank you to the First Responders and the ICU doctors and nurses at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton for their compassionate care to Coop and his family.

The Fisherman’s Prayer

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day

And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray:

When in the Lord’s great landing net and peacefully asleep

That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep.
