Age 91, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at the Renaissance Assisted Living Center. She was born on March 3, 1912, daughter of the late William and Mabel (Trader) Paradise. On May 23, 1942, she married Alfred P. Pfund. Alfred preceded her in death in 1979. Blanche will be remembered by all as a dignified, intelligent, caring family member and friend. Above all, family is what defined Blanche’s life. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Blanche had a clear understanding of what is important in life. She shared our pains, celebrated our successes, and was involved in the decisions which shaped our lives. Blanche was of the generation that lived through the difficulties of the early twentieth century, depression and war to become a strong, generous woman with a love of reading, correspondence, and travel. The family is centering on Thanksgiving for Blanche’s life now that she is reunited with her husband, Al.

Blanche’s extended family includes relatives and friends from all over the country. Her remaining immediate family are her daughter, Elaine; grandchildren and their partners: James, Melissa, John, Chrissy, Tom, Alida, Christine, Brian and Bob; great granddaughter, Madeline Grace; and nephews, Bud, Bill, Wade; and son-in-law, Richard. Blanche deeply appreciated the visits and concern of all her friends. Blanche is preceded in death by a brother, William and sisters: Myrtle McLaughlin and Lydia Craven.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 724 East South River Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jane Weeden officiating. Friends will be received at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
