Age 102, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2001 at Outagamie Health Care Center following a brief illness. She was born on April 11, 1899 in Appleton the daughter of the late James and Ida (Semler) Schwerbel. On June 9, 1945 she married Harland Meredith in Appleton, and he passed away in 1957. Blanche was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She was well known for her doll collection that dated back to 1907. She recently resided at the Conway Annex on Washington Street in Appleton.

She is survived by her brother R. Jack (Helen) Schwerbel of Appleton, her nieces and nephews L. Kent (Irene) Schwerbel of Menasha, Cheryl Roche of Appleton, Susan Schwerbel of Appleton, Steven ( Laurel) Schwerbel of Larsen, WI, and Jacqueline (Bill) Munger of Appleton, her great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harland, her brothers Clyde, and Leland Schwerbel, her sister Ida Pearson, and her sisters-in-law Lucille Schwerbel, Ceil Schwerbel, and Bernice Schwerbel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Wichmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Willis Bloedow officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
