Age 90, died on Sunday, November 25, 2001, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. Beverly was born on March 6, 1911, in Joplin, Missouri, daughter of the late Harry and Virginia (Smith) Breinig. Following high school, Beverly studied with the New York City Ballet. Beverly returned to Appleton, and opened the Beverly Breinig School of the Dance, retiring in 1974 after 43 years. On June 14, 1941, Beverly married Robert E. Lemke, and they enjoyed over 46 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on May 18, 1988. During the mid-forties, Beverly formed the Appleton Civic Ballet. Beverly was active in the Girl Scouts for 10 years. She also volunteered her time teaching physically and mentally handicapped children, and as a Pink Lady at Appleton Medical Center. Beverly also served on the Outagamie County Committee on Aging. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lana (John) Vasquez, Marengo, IL., and their children Jennifer and Kyle; her son Robert C. (Gail) Lemke, Appleton, and their children, Matthew and Ryan; two brothers-in-law, Clarence (Connie) Lemke, Milwaukee; Richard (Laverna) Lemke, Appleton; and her sister-in-law, Doris Coulthard, Menasha. Beverly is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bud Breinig; a step-brother, Millard Breinig; a step-sister, Mary Breinig; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Roocks. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton, with Rev. J. Christian Quello and Rev. Willis Bloedow officiating. The entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27 from 5 – 8 p.m., and again at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Oakridge Gardens for their loving care of Beverly.
