Elizabeth A. “Betty” Kemp, (nee Slomski), age 87 of Little Chute, WI passed away June 17, 2022. She was born to Louis Sr. and Viola (Voltz) Slomski on January 8, 1935. She graduated from Menasha High School with the class of ’53. Betty married Harold Pawlak in 1958 and together, they had 3 boys. She was later remarried in 1975 to Gary Kemp and together, they added a daughter to her family.
Betty loved her job at Boldt Construction, working for them for 28 years before retiring in 2018. Whenever her TV was on, she was likely watching an old western. She loved her grand-dogs, Harlow and Baylee, and would always treasure her time with them. She enjoyed watching football, basketball, and baseball in her spare time – always rooting for Wisconsin teams.
Betty is survived by her children, David (Gail), Peter, Patrick (Pamela), and Kandi; her grandchildren, David Jr, Michael, Mark, Alexandra, Samantha, Johnnie Jr, and Alanah; her brother, Tony (Bennie); siblings-in-law, Cal (Sharon), Lindy, and Keith (Kathy); her special friend, Linda Echrick; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her parents, Viola and Louis Sr; her brother, Louis Jr. (Dorothy); her son-in-law, Johnnie; and her parents-in-law, Wesley and Viola.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 27 from 10-11 AM at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a memorial service to be held at 11 AM. Betty will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery in Menasha.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Norden and the staff at Country Villa Assisted Living Facility for their care and compassion shown to Betty.
