Betty J. Smolinski, 91, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, October 2, 2017.

Betty was born on September 12, 1926 to John and Janet (Rollins) Westberg. She was united in marriage to Frank Smolinski on September 30, 1945. Betty worked at Kimberly Clark and later at Traders Grocery Store and The Red Owl Grocery Store. She enjoyed going to Jefferson Park and Highcliff State Park, to relax and pick hickory nuts. Betty loved getting together with her children playing games outside and card games especially cribbage. She also liked dancing, listening to Pasty Cline and watching her favorite tv shows especially Wheel of Fortune. The time she spent with her family will always be treasured.

Betty is survived by her children; Karen Meyer, Linda (Larry) Olson, Jeff (special friend Kerry Parker) Smolinski, Todd Smolinski, and Jaclyn (Gerald) Hornick, five grandchildren; Ricky (Alisa), Michael, Brian (Melissa), Eric (Sara), Donnie, and Dylan (special friend Hannah), great grandchildren; Tyler, Brody, Lilly and Cole, sister-in-law, Noreen Westberg, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Gary, a grandson Michael and siblings; Jacqueline, Shirley, Eric, and Dick.

The funeral service for Betty will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME LAEMMRICH CHAPEL. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
