Age 51, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Betty was born in Appleton on May 9, 1952, daughter of the late Joel and Gladys (Jansen) Marsh, Sr. She graduated from Little Chute High School, and received training in surgical technology from Fox Valley Technical College. For over twenty years, she worked in that capacity at the Appleton Medical Center. On May 2, 1987, Betty married David Linskens at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Kaukauna; he survives. For the past few months, she had been employed at the College Avenue Piggly Wiggly in the deli department – a job she truly loved. Betty was a faithful member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Kaukauna, and will be remembered by all for her love of gardening, singing with her family, and appreciating Lindsay play the piano.
She is survived by her husband: David Linskens of Kaukauna; her daughter: Lindsay Linskens, at home; a son: Cory Schmitt of Appleton; nine brothers and sisters: Joel (Nancy) Marsh of Little Chute; Ed (Glenda) Marsh of Mountain; John (Brenda) Marsh of Appleton; Walter Marsh of Appleton and his special friend Linda Ziepke; Dick (Geri) Marsh of Madison; Jean (Dick) Carstens of Kaukauna; George Marsh of Appleton; Mike Marsh of Oshkosh; and Susie Marsh of Appleton; two step-sisters: Sue (Jack) Zeman of Menomonee Falls and Pam Majetich of Madison; a step-brother: Jerry (Tracie) Banks of Verona; three brothers-in-law: Anthony “Sonny” (Lois) Linskens of Little Chute, Eugene (LaVerne) Linskens of Kaukauna, and Earl Kelling of Roscoe, Illinois; a sister-in-law: Audrey Linskens of Kaukauna; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave’s parents Anthony and Irma Linskens, a brother Thomas Marsh, her step-mother Alberta marsh, a brother-in-law Donald Linskens, and a sister-in-law Joyce Kelling.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2003 at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street in Kaukauna with Rev. Mark Luetzow officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 8 PM and again Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and sister who put the needs of others above those of her own. Even on the day of her death, her family lovingly arranged for Betty’s organs to be donated to share the gift of life with others whose lives were in danger of being lost.
Betty remembered everyone and kept in touch with her family and friends regularly – she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
