Bette Steinhorst

Elizabeth A. “Bette” Steinhorst, age 88, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Peabody Manor. She was born on June 23, 1925, to the late Erik and Loretta Graf, and she grew up in Janesville. Bette was always an independent spirit and very open-minded. She was a very social person and could make friends wherever she went. Bette was loved very much by her family, and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Daniel) Zehner, Greg (Terry) Steinhorst, Mary Jo (Dennis) McAbee, and Amy (Joe) Vermiglio; grandchildren, Matt Zehner, Chris Zehner, Steph (Dan) Mathews, Eric (Melissa Zimmerman) Steinhorst, Allie (Jeff) Bohlmann, Kelly (Brad) Preston, Ross McAbee, Eric Rathsack, Sarah Rathsack, and Tim Rathsack; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Gavin, Ella, Evan, Christian, Mason, Jaeda, Isabelle, AJ, Lukas, Marley, Jaxon, and Ryder. Bette is further survived by her brother, Dick Graf. The family would like to especially thank Bette's dear friend, Sari, for all of the good times. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Duller.

A memorial service for Bette will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013, at the WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton.
