STEPHAN, BETSY ANN

Betsy Ann Stephan, age 65, a longtime resident of Greenville, died on Sunday, December 2, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center. Betsy was born on August 30, 1942, in New London, to the late Earl and Edna (Tornow) Thoma. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great babysitter. Betsy was also well-known for her love of card playing. She married Donald Stephan on September 30, 1961; he preceded her in death on March 21, 1997. Survivors include her daughters, Julie (Terrance) Uhlenbrauck, Appleton; Jeannie Stephan, Madison; Kristina (Paul) Kramer, Greenville; Kelly Stephan, Madison; Angela Stephan, Appleton; her grandchildren, Steven (Liz) Stephan, Cory Uhlenbrauck, Mishayna Uhlenbrauck, Justin Stephan and Tyler Kramer; her great grandchildren, Hunter and Trevor Stephan; her brothers and sisters, Earl “Jay” Thoma, Jr.; Jeanine (Rev. Leonard) Pankow; Wesley Thoma; and Ronald (Chris) Thoma; her mother-in-law, Florella Stephan; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Robert) Schmidt; Deloris (Edward) Chizek; Tom (Pat) Stephan; Shirley Penner; Bob Rohloff; Pat Bessette; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Rohloff and her brother, David Thoma. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at IMMANUEL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, Julius and School Roads, Greenville, with Rev. David Scharf officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of Betsy’s caregivers. A memorial has been established in her name.
