BERNICE T. “BEA” ALBRECHT
Of Appleton, age 76, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Oakridge Gardens. She was born May 14, 1929 in Appleton the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa (Nieuwenhuis) Kohl. Bernice married Theodore “Bud” Albrecht on December 9, 1958 in South Chicago, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2005.
Bea was a long time employee in bookkeeping at Valley Packaging, retiring in 1991. She was involved with bowling her entire life, serving as secretary of multiple leagues. She taught junior bowling and worked with Special Olympics’ bowlers for many years. She was inducted into the Central Fox Valley Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1995. Bea enjoyed cooking and especially getting everyone together to make Christmas candy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, Wiggles and Peanut. Bea was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Bernice is survived by her sons: Allan (Joan) Albrecht and Donald (Paula) Albrecht both of Appleton; 4 grandchildren: Megan, Katy, Ryan and Aric Albrecht; 3 sisters: Joanne (Vince) Ste Marie of Appleton, Correne (Donald) Collar of Menasha and Shirley (Reg) Lamers of Illinois; her brother: Donald (Jackie) Kohl of Appleton; 2 sisters-in-law: Margaret Polakowski of DePere and Jean Verrett of Neenah and her brother-in-law: Robert (Marge) Albrecht of Menasha. Bea is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Joyce and Katherine Kohl and two brothers-in-law, Clifford Polakowski and George Verrett.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 6:30 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel with Deacon Mark Farrell officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
