Bernice F. Rohloff
“Buggs”
516 East Capitol Drive, Appleton
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to sleep in her earthly home and peacefully awoke in her heavenly home with our Lord Jesus on Friday, November 2, 2001. Bernice was born in Appleton on June 18, 1928, to the late Oscar and Josephine (Koski) Davidson. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton. Bernice was united in marriage to Russell Wilcox on June 18, 1949. Together they owned and operated a downtown Appleton business until his death on November 22,1963. On March 20, 1965, Bernice and Carl Rohloff were united in marriage in Appleton. Bernice was an Appleton resident until her retirement from the Maintenance Department at Fox Valley Technical College in 1986. Upon her retirement, she and Carl made their winter residence in Spring Hill, Florida and spent their summers in Mountain, Wisconsin. Just last year an Appleton residence was again established to be near family and friends. Bernice was a very humble individual who gave generously of her love and thoughtfulness to others. Everyone who knew her could appreciate her special fondness for laughter, humor, and the ability to see the silver lining of a dark cloud. Survivors include Carl, her husband of 36 years; her daughter, Louise (James) Alsteen, Appleton; her granddaughters, Delanie Marshall and Erin Schnetzer, Appleton; her great granddaughter, Cassandra Marshall; her special Goddaughter, Stacy Bengel; her sister, Margaret (Ronald) Merkley, Mountain; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lucille (Charles) Davidson, Menasha, Louise (Bernard) Davidson, Appleton, Alice (George) Subert, Kimberly, and Vera (Al) Lietz, Appleton; Louise (Arnold) Albrecht, Appleton, Ruth Smith, Shiocton, Alice (Elroy) Peterson, Janesville, Marion (Richard) Hinz, Appleton, Paul (Clydene) Rohloff, Jr, Waupaca, Robert (Donna) Rohloff, Shiocton, Harvey Rohloff, Iola, Kenneth Rohloff, Tigerton, Erwin Hanson, Weyauwega; Robert Wilcox, New London, Roger Wilcox, Kaukauna, Glenn (Yvonne) Wilcox, Neenah, Hazel Balthazor, Neenah, Eva Bork, Neenah, Dolly Bork, Neenah, Bette (Franklin) Ferg, Waupaca, and Linda (Alton) Ponto, Weyauwega; She was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith, Marie, and Helen; and her brothers, Edwin, Charles, Elmer, Neil, and Bernard.
