Age 95, passed away at Renaissance Assisted Living in Appleton on Monday, January 23, 2006. She was born in Appleton on March 16, 1910 the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (Retzloff) Schmiege. Bea graduated from Appleton High School and Lawrence University in 1932. She was employed as secretary to the Dean of Lawrence University. On September 28, 1937 she married her husband of 60 years, Forrest “Pete” Muck. Bea had many interests including being an active member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, also serving with St. Paul Ladies Aid and being a member of the Past Officers Club. Other interests included: the Valparaiso University Guild, Thursday Reading Club, volunteering at Appleton Medical Center and the Yellow Brick Road, Lion’s Auxiliary and the Lioness’, the United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary, and being the Lawrence University Alumni Secretary for the class of 1932.
Bea is survived by her son: James (Sharon) Muck of Cedarburg; grandsons, William (Vanessa) Muck of Little Rock, AK and Benjamin Muck of Denver, CO; great-grandchild, Fisher James Muck; many cousins and a very dear friend of 90 years, Margaret Bozek. Bea is preceded in death by her husband Forrest in 1997 and a brother that passed away at birth in 1912.
The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison St. Appleton followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John C. Baumann and Ralph C. Waack officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
