Bernice C. Westberg, age 88, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Century Oaks Care Center, town of Menasha. She was born April 24, 1916, in Byron, Illinois, the daughter of the late Joseph and Addie Mae (Swarthout) Sweeney. Bernice was united in marriage to LaVerne Westberg on Sept. 14, 1935, in Stillman Valley, Illinois. She moved to the Fox Valley nine years ago, and has lived at Century Oaks the past three years.
Playing the piano and bingo were favorite pastimes for Bernice. The Westbergs enjoyed a good life together.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Ball, and her husband, Bill, of Menasha, and her son, Bob Westberg, of Crest Hill, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, and five brothers.

A Celebration of Life for Bernice will take place at a later time at Century Oaks. A memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the staff at Century Oaks for the care and compassion while Bernice lived there. They would also like to thank Dr. Sokhi, the nurses and staff at Theda Clark Hospital for their most recent care.
