Northam, Bernice C.
Bernice C. Northam, age 99, died Sunday morning, February 6, 2005, at Peabody Manor. She was born March 19, 1905, to the Late James and Agnes (Ward) Conroy, in Superior, Wisconsin, where she graduated from college, with a degree in teaching. Following her marriage to Oscar A. Northam, she moved to Appleton and taught at Jefferson Elementary school for over 20 years. Beecy was a world traveler and visited, China, Cambodia, Russia, Egypt, Australia, Europe and South America. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lady Elks, St. Elizabeth Auxiliary for over 40 years and she was a guide at The Hearthstone and a library volunteer at Jefferson School. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Northam, Menasha; four grandchildren, Michael (Karen) Northam, Appleton; Susan (Craig) Wooster, Shelburne, VT; Richard (Tracy) Northam, Neenah; Thomas (Christi) Northam, Menasha; seven great grandchildren, Elisabeth Anne Northam, Thomas and Alex Wooster, Nicholas and Mallory Northam, Charles and Neal Northam; and a brother-in-law, Ray E. Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar A. Northam, two sisters, Lanora Russell and Helen Jane Lindquist and two brothers, James Conroy and Justin Conroy. A memorial service for Bernice will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 10, 2005, at ST MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, with Father Michael K. O'Rourke officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am Thursday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
