BERNICE “Bernie” LYNCH

Age 64, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Appleton Medical Center. Bernie was born on October 30, 1936, in Columbus to the late John and Agnes (Laufenberg) Barman. She married Robert Lynch on May 21, 1960, in Madison.
Bernie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and a special friend to many. She was well known for her sense of humor. Bernie was active at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, assisting with hospital visits, communion for the sick, visiting shut-ins, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was formerly employed at Tel-Sec. Survivors include her husband of 40 years; her daughter, Karen (LeRoy) Dorn, Appleton; her son Thomas Lynch (fiancee Lu Shanklin), Appleton; her son, Richard (Cheryl) Lynch, Appleton; her son, James (Kristi) Lynch, Menasha; her grandchildren: Eric and Bryan Dorn; Jodi, Thomas Jr., and Anthony Lynch; Danielle, David and Adam Lynch; Ryan Shanklin and Michelle Kudrna. She is further survived by her sister Janet (William) Henes, Madison; her brother, Donald (Venida) Barman, Sun Praire; her sister-in-law and good friend, Delores (Clarence) Wallace, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her brother LaVern Barman and her step-father, Walter Wilhelm.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2001, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Sunday from 5 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday directly at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. There will a parish prayer and scripture service Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Bernie’s name to benefit St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
