Age 69, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Bernard was born on April 12, 1931, son of the late Richard and Mary (Mahoney) Ryan. He married Florence Thompson in Syracuse, NY on November 19, 1955, and they have enjoyed over 45 years of marriage. Bernard attended Le Moyne College in Syracuse, and graduated in 1958. Bernard was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He was a loving and caring man, who will be sadly missed by those who knew him. Bernard is survived by his wife Florence; five children, Tim (Julie) Ryan, Tucson, AZ; Cindy (John) Forster, Horicon, WI; Tom Ryan, Phoenix, AZ; Mary Ryan, Tucson; Cathy (Shane) Fleming, Greenville; two sisters, Rosemary (Carmine) Baratta, Syracuse; Margaret (Arthur) Goewey, Terrace Park, OH; and 10 grandchildren. Bernard’s Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established.
