Bernard James Novak, age 84, of Kaukauna, passed away on November 15, 2019 due to an extended illness. Bernard was born on May 27, 1935 to John and Marion (Feucht) Novak in Argonne, Wisconsin. He served his country from 1954 to 1956 as a member of the U. S. Air Force. He was a Pattern Maker and worked with several companies. He was a long-time employee of Giddings and Lewis. He was also employed with Perfect Pattern in Appleton, and Harvey Pattern in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He loved hunting, fishing and farming. He also enjoyed sitting by a campfire, going to the casino and telling stories.
Bernie is survived by the love of his life, Mary and his beloved dog Missy, as well as 2 sons, Mike Novak of Kaukauna and Ron (Danielle) Novak of Pembine, 3 daughters, Vicki (Roy) Everts of New London, Debbie Lappen of Appleton, and Dawn (Bob) Stec of Goodman, Wisconsin, 1 sister Darlene (Ray) Howen of Niagara, Wisconsin, sisters in law, Diana (Mrs. Roland) Novak, Paulette (Mrs. Jerome) Novak, Debbie (Mrs. Jim) Novak, and Karen (Mrs. Edmond) Novak, 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, Mary’s son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons Jeffrey and Ricky Novak, 1 great-grandson Andrew, 1 son in law Tom Lappen, and 4 brothers, Roland, Jerome, Jim and Edmond Novak.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Don Everts officiating. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, at the church, from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Argonne, Wisconsin at a later date.
