Beatrice Albertz died peacefully at an area nursing home on Thursday, August 31, 2006. Bea was 83. She was born in Columbus, Wisconsin on August 18, 1923, daughter of the late Emil and Anna (Riedeman) Keip. On May, 1, 1948, Charles Albertz, Sr. made her his bride, and later the family relocated to the Kaukauna area. For many years Beatrice had been a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and enjoyed caring for the many flowers and vegetables in her garden. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed canning and preserving her tasty harvest. Bea also enjoyed needlework, and she never missed the chance to take a break from her daily activities to visit with family and friends to catch up on the news of the day. She often reminisced about her days on the farm as a young girl – those days were a source of many fond memories for her. Bea was a kind, gentle, and compassionate woman, and those traits enabled her to care for others for many years at the Outagamie County Health Center where she worked as an aide. She always found great satisfaction in her work there.
Survivors include her husband: Charles Albertz, Sr. of Kaukauna; two sons: Daniel (Debra) Albertz of Freedom and Gerald Albertz of Kaukauna; three grandchildren: Brian Albertz of Kaukauna, Jason Albertz of Racine, and Crystal (Colin) Nemeth of Madison; two brothers: Ruben Keip of Sun Prairie and John (Elaine) Keip of Columbus; a sister: Ruth Koerner of Madison; and five sisters-in-law: Eileen Keip of Madison, Carol Keip of Madison, Betty Albertz of Green Bay, Vallee Mae Hansel of Oshkosh, and Beverly (Elmer) Kopp of Minneapolis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, a son Charles, Jr. in 2002, sisters: Margaret Keip, Dorothy (Fred) Schoenherr, and Esther (Lavern) Bradley; brothers: Lawrence Keip, Lester Keip, and Walter Keip; brothers-in-law: Harold Koerner, Ralph Albertz, and Leroy Hansel; and sisters-in-law: Doris Keip and Phyllis Albertz.
Funeral services for Beatrice will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 124 W. 10th Street in Kaukauna with Rev. Walter Steinbach officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of the services.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Colony Oaks Care Center. Beatrice had been a patient there for many years, and everyone’s care, love, and compassion helped to make her comfortable during her stay. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
