Barry L. Hottenstine “Bubs”

Loving husband, father and grandfather, age 78, died on Monday, July 5, 2004. Barry was born in Madison, WI, on August 12, 1925, son of the late Dewey and Marjorie (Wickens) Hottenstine. He married Betty Simonis on June 7, 1947. Barry was employed as a driver for Kroger-Krambo Trucking Company for 20 years, retiring in 1972. Barry enjoyed deer hunting, and fishing. He especially loved working in his vegetable garden and enjoyed talking to people as he sold his produce. He died doing what he loved; working in his garden. Barry will be greatly missed by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Deborah (Mark) Evans; his son, Todd (Brenda) Hottenstine; sister, Joan Kropidlowski; 6 grandchildren: Eric (Staci), Ryan and Sarah Evans; Brooke (Michael) Morrill; Jim Hankwitz and his fiancé, Jennifer; Jennifer Hankwitz; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Olds; Margaret Koch; Ellen (Bill) Gabler; Donna (Danny) Hintz; brother-in-law, Billy (Barbara) Simonis; and great-grandchildren, Karissa Evans and Conner Morrill. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and his two dachshunds, Molly and Holly. Barry was preceded in death by his son, Michael; brother, Grant “Doc” Hottenstine; sister, Mary Van Stippen and in-laws, Louis (Verna) Simonis. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 9, 2004, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Kent Ingram officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday, July 9 from 9 until 10:45 a.m. The interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.
