Barbara Taylor Forbes, 91, Appleton, WI, passed away on June 14, 2021.
Barbara was born on June 9th, 1930 in Chicago, IL to James E. Taylor and Jean M. Schwartz. She attended Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey before meeting her lifelong husband, William J. Forbes, in New Hampshire. They married December 23rd, 1955 and moved to Pennsylvania where their daughter Kimberly was born.
In 1969, the family of three moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Barb and Bill owned Madewell Chair Company, where they designed and manufactured wood and upholstered furniture. Barbara’s talents as an interior decorator shined.
She was a wonderful hostess and cook, a fabulous seamstress, needlepointer, and crafts person. She loved the game of bridge, golf, music, and singing. She found such joy in sharing her love of creating with her granddaughters, Taylor and Sydney. For those who knew Barb they knew she was full of humor and life, sass and spunk, love and oh so many stories.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Kimberly Forbes (Larry Westphal), grand-daughters Taylor Picard (Alex Noriega) and Sydney Witt (Dave Witt), her sisters Nancy Whiting and Betsy Michels, brother Jim Taylor, and her nieces Sally, Elizabeth, and Jane, as well as her sons-in-law, Thomas Picard and Terry Witthuhn.
She is preceded in death by her late husband William J. Forbes, sister Ann Backey, mother Jean Schwartz, father James Taylor, and step-father Charles Schwartz.
Although there will be no official service, her family asks that in lieu of flowers to donate to the Alzheimer’sAssociation.
