Barbara J. Stilp, 66 years, passed away August 24, 2017 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was born February 24, 1951 to her parents Roman F. and Sophie T. (Mitchell) Stilp in Appleton, Wisconsin at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Barb was a graduate of St. Mary High School, Menasha.
She was a retiree of Kimberly-Clark Paper after 31 years of service where she was an office assistant. She had fond memories of the family owned Woodsedge Resort in Cable, Wisconsin during her teen years. Barbara was a lover of music who would share recordings as a gift to her family. She played guitar and especially loved The Beatles. Guests over age 16 at her home would be invited to play pool. Barb would share her beloved dog, Sophie, by visiting local nursing homes to brighten the day of those who could not have a pet. Reading was an important pass time to Barbara with Stephan King novels being a first choice.
Barb will be missed by her brother-in-law James Sawicki, niece Laurie (Westgor) Kofnetka, nephews Joe (Cathy) Sawicki, Mike (Jenny) Sawicki, Dan (Missy) Sawicki, Bob (Jennifer) Sawicki, Andy (Jill) Sawicki, Kevin (Karla) Westgor, Steve Westgor, Chris Westgor, Greg (Mandy Maass) Westgor, 17 great- nieces and nephews, 1 great-great-nephew, 1 great-great-niece, special friends Linda, Judy and Mary, her many friends at Buchanan Cottages where Barb lived and her dog, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Diane Stilp, Marilyn Sawicki, and Geraldine (Ronald) Westgor.
A Funeral Service for Barb will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 5:00 pm at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. Private inurnment St. Mary Cemetery. Family and friends may gather Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Wichmann Funeral Home – Laemmrich Chapel from 3:00 pm until time of Service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in Barb’s name will be established.
