Haas, Barbara J.
Barb Haas, 75, Appleton, passed away peacefully Tuesday July 3rd, 2007, after a short illness, with her family at her side. She was born December 9, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio daughter of the late Stephen and Bertha (Flay) Reeder, Sr.
Barb was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio with a Masters degree in Chemistry. She worked for many years in the paper industry as well as doing extensive research work at the Institute of Paper Chemistry.
Barb was joined in marriage to Richard Haas on June 4th 1960 and they enjoyed 41 years together until he preceded her in death on September 14, 2001.
Barb was a very kind, generous, caring person; and every one who knew her loved her. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always in motion and willing to help in any way she could. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends along with baking, reading, volunteer work and traveling. She will be missed by all including the new love of her life, her dog Maggie.
Barbara is survived by: two sons; Stephen (Colleen) Haas, Appleton; David (Lorie Endter) Haas, Dale; a daughter, Katie (Brad) Zoelk, Appleton; four grandchildren: Kyle Haas, Cailin Haas, Paige Zoelk and Drew Zoelk; and a brother Stephen Reeder of Vandelia, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, from 5-8 pm on Sunday, July 8 and again on Monday at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church 209 S. Allen Street, Appleton, WI, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Entombment wil be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
