Barbara Ann Guzeman, age 85, of Little Chute, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven in the early morning of September 14, 2023, at her home. She was blessed to be surrounded by the love of her family as she passed. Barbara was born on April 30, 1938, daughter of Frank and Beatrice (Yankee) O’Bed in Downers Grove, IL. She came from humble beginnings at the tail end of the Great Depression growing up in a house with no electricity or water. When Barbara was 17, she began working as a car hop at the local A&W. This is where she met her future husband, Robert Guzeman. They wed a year later on June 16, 1956, at the Naperville Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Illinois. They shared 54 years of marriage before Bob’s passing in 2010.
In her younger years, Barb was a Sunday School Teacher for 10 years sharing her faith and trust in God with many students. Barb was always very busy. She loved playing cards and working in her garden. She was also a wonderful cook and baker, as well as a talented seamstress making several wedding and bridesmaid dresses. Even as she aged, Barb still enjoyed fixing things, planting flowers, and was involved in her church. Above all, Barb was most proud of creating a warm and loving home for her family and being active with her grandchildren.
Barb will be missed by many, especially her five children: Bob, John Brian (Angie), the late Steven (Lorrie), Tina (Roy) Ramsey, and Jennifer (Armando) Carrera; her nine grandchildren: Autumn, Maggie, Christopher, Jasmin, Journey, Dustin, Jacob, Michael, and Kaine; as well as eight great grandchildren: Camilla, Roman, Arian, Marriah, Billy, Myla, Robert, and Caleb. She is further survived by her brother: John O’Bed, sister: Marie Brown; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was reunited in Heaven with her husband, son, brother: Frank O’Bed; and sister: Betty Nuenkirchen.
The memorial service for Barb will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Calvary Chapel, 2136 East Newberry St. Appleton 54915, with Pastor Dwight Douville officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Well done, good and faithful servant!
