TRACANNA, BARBARA ANN

Barbara Tracanna, of Appleton, age 72, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 with her family at her side. She was born May 7, 1935 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Elmer and Adeline (Kranszusch) Totzke. On September 2, 1957 she married Peter Tracanna in Dubuque, Iowa. Barb was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and involved with the Women's Deborah Circle. She was employed at Sears for twenty-five years. Barb loved traveling, entertaining, shopping, reading books and always enjoyed a good old-fashioned. She was a generous person and passed her love for the Christmas season to every one she met. Barb volunteered for many organizations including, F.I.S.H., The Salvation Army, Fox Valley Emergency Shelter, Five Oaks Card Club Coordinator and Fox Valley Aids Project.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 50 years: Peter Tracanna, Appleton; daughter: Terryl (Vinnie) Santkuyl, Kaukauna; son: Ted (Debra) Tracanna, Marshfield; grandchildren: Theron Tracanna; Thea, Trentin and Trase Tracanna and her brother: William (Leah) Totzke, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Anthony “Tony” Tracanna.

The funeral service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2330 E. Calumet Street, Appleton with Revs. Roger McQuistion and Gary Nokleberg officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Salvation Army are appreciated.

A special thanks to all the staff at Appleton Medical Center – Intensive Care Unit, nurses Nolene and Maggie, Dr. Al Abbas, Dr. Zornosa and Dr. Kroner and also Rev. Roger McQuistion for your excellent care and compassion to our loved one and our family.
