Johnson, Baerbel “Barbara”

Barbara Johnson, age 59, died unexpectedly, July 27, 2005. She was born May 24, 1946, to Michael and the late Annelise (Kroeger) Zimmermann, in Hamburg, Germany. She lived in the United States since the age of 18 and in the Appleton area for the past 10 years. Barbara had been employed by Sears for 27 years. She enjoyed preparing German dishes. Barbara had a vivacious zest for life, loved to talk with people and would help anybody with anything without questioning. She is survived by her father, Michael Zimmermann, Germany; a step-brother, Sonka Fisher, Germany; two step sisters, Heika (Joe) Uong, Hawaii; Anke Sledge, Alabama; her fiancé and best friend, David P. Pieper, Greenville; and her yellow lab, Jasper. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annelise Zimmerman. Memorial services for Barbara will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 1, 2005, at the funeral home, with Reverend Paul L. Shackel officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home, Monday, from 12:00 pm (Noon), until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
