“Augie”

Age 65, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 28, 1936 in Berlin, the son of the late Valentine and Frances (Treder) Markowski. On February 9, 1960 he married Lorraine Yeska at St. Michael Catholic Church in Berlin, Wisconsin. He owned and operated Augie’s Corporation for many years, and later in his career was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #400. He retired from B & P Mechanical this past January. Augie loved playing cards and also spent time trout fishing and golfing. Augie was a 36 year member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Lorraine of Appleton; his children and grandchildren Tammy (Carl) Plamann and Dillon, and Hunter all of Sheboygan; Julie (Randy) Skowronski and Lauren and Tyler all of Germantown, Wisconsin; Peter Markowski and his children Sadie, Cole, and Paul all of Wild Rose. Augie is also survived by his brothers and sisters Vince (Wilma) Markowski of Fond du Lac; Tony (Nora Jean) Markowski of Hudson, Wisconsin; Barbara Shilobrit of Oshkosh; Mary (Don) Shurpit of Stevens Point; Frances (Bob) Grasee of Ripon; and Jenny Markowski of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Peter Markowski, his sister Sr. Mary Florita, and his brother-in-law Ally Shilobrit.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 8, 2001 at 10:30 AM at St. Thesese Catholic Church at the corner of Morrison Street and Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton with the Rev. Daniel Gilsdorf officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
Augie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed and loved by his family and friends.
