Audrey P. Rogers, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born the second oldest of seven, on March 17, 1929, in the Town of Osbourn on the family homestead, the daughter of Perry and Verna (Luedtke) Mullen. Audrey attended Pioneer School, and in 1947 graduated from Seymour High School. She was united in marriage to James G. Rogers on June 22, 1954, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2007. Audrey was employed with Appleton Coated Paper Co. in the mid 50’s in the payroll dept., and as a sales associate at the candy counter at Gimbels for 20 years. She took great pride in her work.
Audrey loved cleaning and doing laundry, as her brother stated “she had a PHD equivalent in housekeeping.” She enjoyed reading the newspaper cover to cover, fishing and traveling to Missouri, Florida, and Hawaii. Audrey raised four children in her home of 60 years on Lindberg Street, before moving to Dimensions Living, Appleton. During her time at Dimensions, Audrey’s personality really bloomed and she came into her own with each new friendship she made.
Audrey is survived by 3 children: Susan (Mark) Vander Linden, Lori (Michael) Bartsch, and Bruce “Buck” (Karen) Rogers; a daughter-in-law: Sue Rogers; grandchildren: Paul (Camila), Sandy (Richard) Gibson, Andrew and Jenny (Michael) Vander Linden, Dustin Rusch, Cody (Jessica) and Sam Rogers, Gunnar, Brenna, and Tanner Rogers; step grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ezra, Leah; 7 great grandchildren: Saul, Kai, and Tula Vander Linden, Brayden and Jack Gibson, Camdin and Kylee Rogers; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 3 siblings: Eunice Wilson, Glen (Marlene) Mullen, and Richard “Pete” Mullen; a sister-in-law: Donna Mullen; other relatives and friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, her parents, a son: Michael “Forkhorn” Rogers; 3 siblings: Eldred “Gus” (Pat), Laverne “Peewee”, and Doris Mullen; a brother-in-law: Gene Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 9, 2022, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Friday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Harbor House.
Audrey was a 9 year oral cancer survivor, and her family would like to thank all her doctors and nurses throughout her treatments. Audrey’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Dimensions Living for their excellent care and love shown to mom over the last 9 years.
