Age 77, died Monday, October 8, 2001. Arthur was born on February 28, 1924, in Appleton, to the late Charles and Alvina (Puls) Herrmann. He was employed for almost 40 years in the paper industry. Most of his career was with Neenah Paper Company, Kimberly Clark serving as mill manager in later years. Art was very involved in the Whiting/Plover Mill acquisition and expansion. Prior to retirement, Art was president and General Manager of Kimberly Clark’s Terrace Bay Pulp Mill in Ontario, Canada. Arthur loved life, work, his family and sunsets. He served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. Survivors include his five children; Arthur “Chip” Herrmann, Waupaca; Marcy Herrmann, New London; David (Maria) Herrmann, Appleton; Kris (Jim) Serwe, Kaukauna; Lisa (Jeff) Straw, Fremont; his eight grandchildren; David and Brian Herrmann; Ben, Sarah, Hannah, and Ryan Serwe; David and Jennifer Straw; his former wife and special friend, Sue Herrmann, Appleton; his sister, Donna Vaughan, Appleton; many nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Chester. It was Arthur’s wish that private funeral services be held; Rev. Joel Zank of Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Arthur’s name. Condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
