Age 85, died Monday evening, September 2, 2002, at Colony Oaks Care Center. He was born January 4, 1917, to the late Arthur and Mae (Doerfler) Schultz, in Appleton, where he was a resident his entire life. He married the former Mary A. Klapstein on May 24, 1941 in Appleton. Pete served with the U. S. Army Air Force for 4 years during WW II. Following his discharge he was employed by Cities Service Oil Co. He owned Northstar Oil Company before opening Schultz Oil Co. on Richmond Street in Appleton. Pete was an avid golfer and bowler and was a real people person. He was a member of Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church and the Oney Johnston-Edward Blessman American Legion Post #38, of Appleton.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jim Peotter, Kodiak, AK; two granddaughters, Darcy Holt and Penni Peotter; four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his sister, Genevieve Krueger, and three brothers-in-law.

A memorial service for Pete will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 7, 2002, at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 West Seymour Street, with Reverend Dennis W. Belter officiating. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am, Saturday until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church or the Rawhide Boys Ranch.
