Arnold Butzlaff was born in Montana on October 21, 1958, son of the late Arnold and Elizabeth (Cannon) Butzlaff, Sr. He came to Appleton with his father and brothers after the unexpected death of his mother. Arnie worked for a time at St. Elizabeth Hospital, but most will remember him for being employed for over thirty years by Voith Fabrics in Appleton.
Arnie was a true outdoorsman. He loved weekends up north at the cabin, time on the water fishing, and just enjoying the Northwoods. His greatest accomplishment was catching a rare “blue perch” on the lake, and Kathy has the pictures to prove it. He also enjoyed various craft beers; you never know what he had in the refrigerator. He loved the Packers, collecting old stereo equipment, airplanes, and the annual EAA Convention.
Arnie is survived by his wife, Kathy; brothers: David and Dean Butzlaff; father-in-law: Tom Greunke; sister-in-law: Diane (Andy) Netzel; brothers-in-law: Tim (Connie) Greunke, Bill Greunke, and Mike Greunke; a special aunt: Jean Kenjesky; nieces and nephews: Crystal (Phil) Romenesko, Ryan (Brittany) Smith, Jake Greunke, and Kayla (Mike) Lefler; and great-nieces and nephews: Frisko, Howie, Gus, and Lee Romenesko, Austin Smith, and Parks Lefler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother-in-law Peggy Greunke.
Funeral Services for Arnie will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Christ the Rock Community Church, located at W6254 US Highway 10-114 near Menasha. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Monday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service,
