Age 86, peacefully passed away at Cherry Meadows in Appleton on Tuesday, October 2, 2007. He was born in Athens, WI on February 9, 1921 the son of the late Frank and Anna Albrecht. In 1942, at the age of 21, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served at the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. On October 1, 1949 he married Kay Szaniawski who preceded him in death in 1988. On April 13, 1991 he married Louise Brockman. Arnie worked at the U. S. Post Office in Milwaukee for 34 years as a semi driver. He loved his family, traveling, gardening, and being in the north woods. Arnie was always busy with a project.

Arnie is survived by his wife, Louise and her children: Lynn (Wally) Schmalz, Tom (Diane) Brockman, Debra (Al) Presteen and Vicki Brockman; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; Arnie’s sons: Arnold “Butch” Albrecht and Ken (Barb) Albrecht, both of Cedarburg, WI; grandchildren: Rebecca, Charles, Ken, Thomas, Jacqueline and Nicole; and brother, Joe (Rosella) Albrecht of Athens, WI. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Arnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay, and twin sons; brothers: George, Frank, Tony, Carl and Al; sisters: Josephine and Senny; and Louise’s son, Michael.

A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2007 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Superior St., Appleton. The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, Mequon, WI at the intersection of Mequon Rd. and Rangeline Rd. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.

The family extends a special thank you to Affinity Hospice, especially Barb, Gina and Yvonne. Furthermore a special thank you is extended to Cherry Meadows Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
