Age 92 left us to sing in the Lord’s heavenly choir on November 29, 2024. Ardyth was born in Kingston, Wisconsin, on April 22, 1932, to Pastor T.W. and Adelle Redlin, and both have preceded her in death. She had one brother, Gerald Redlin, who had also already passed away. She married Harry Schlichting on March 12, 1960, and he passed on July 3, 2003.
Music was a great part of who Ardyth was. She began playing the organ in church at the age of thirteen, and from then on played at multiple churches and directed and sang in both church choirs as well as at the Thompson Center. She was a member of the Chaminade Chorus for many years and directed the choir at Harbor Lites Park in Florida.
She leaves behind her four daughters: Barb (Todd) Ziegler, Paula (John) Hubert, Sharon Krisch, and Susan (Robert) Strothers. Her grandchildren are Tamara Riehle, Benjamin (Kimberly) Ziegler, Nicholas (Whitney) Ziegler, Patrick Hubert, Austin Hubert, Lindsey Krause, Jessica Krisch, and Carey Alvarez; and her great-grandchildren are Gabriel Alvarez, Paxton Alvarez, Peyton Krause, Collin Krause, Easton Ziegler, Savannah Ziegler, Cameron Ziegler, and Remington Ziegler.
The Christian Funeral Service for Ardyth will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 530 W. Parkway Blvd. in Appleton, with Rev. Daniel Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions will be made to the American Heart Association or to Bethany Lutheran Church.
