Johnson, Ardyce S.

Ardyce Johnson, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2006 at the Vallhaven Care Center in Neenah. Ardyce was born in the Waupaca County town of Harrison on September 21, 1922, daughter of the late Sam and Clara (Matson) Olson. She married LeRoy S. Johnson on July 12, 1941 in the Shawano County town of Germania. Together, the couple operated a dairy farm in the Wittenberg area for many years.

Ardyce was a skilled crafter who enjoyed sewing and other needlecrafts. She was also an excellent cook, and loved to share her baked goods with her family and friends. All who knew Ardyce know how much her family meant to her. Her entire life was focused on her family. She looked forward to family gatherings, and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years: LeRoy Johnson of Neenah; three children: Lois (Marlin) Fiestadt of Appleton; Gerald (Linda) Johnson of Hortonville; and Sandra (Tom) Wanta of North Mankato, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Lonnie (Tom) Thorne of Greenville; Chadwick Fiestadt of

Appleton; Tammy Scovronski of Little Chute; Melissa (Kevin) Warning of Hortonville; Robin (Todd) Johnson-Pierre of Kaukauna; and Becky (Eric) Libby of Jamestown, North Dakota; and seven great-grandchildren: Madison and Sawyer Thorne, Scott and Ben Scovronski, Karlie and Cole Warning, and Jaxon Libby. She is also survived by a sister: Lillian Hussong of Wausau; and by three sisters-in-law: Lucille Olson of Milwaukee, Joyce Olson of Wausau, and Tillie Johnson of Plover. Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leonard, Raymond, Benny, and Carroll, a sister Pauline Guyette, as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2006 in the Gammelin Chapel of ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street in Appleton with Rev. Wendy Wirth-Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery in Wittenberg. Friends may call directly at the Gammelin Chapel on Monday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to everyone at Heartland Hospice and to the entire staff at Vallhaven Care Center in Neenah, with special thanks to Kathy S., Kathy M., Angela, and Bonnie. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten
