Arda Rose (Tousey) Smith, age 82 of Kaukauna, went to be with her Savior on Saturday November 28, 2020, after fighting a brave battle with cancer. She passed peacefully with family members at her side. Arda was born July 19, 1938 to the late Arden & Rosemary (Cavil) Tousey. She was a 1956 graduate of Kimberly High School and spent most of her life waitressing or as a hostess at several area restaurants. Many remember her for her gift of gab and for the last twenty-five years or so as an employee at the Out-O-Town Club, where she fostered many special bonds created cherished memories.
Arda is survived by her husband of thirty-one years: Robert Smith; four children: Lisa Lemke – Kobs, Brenda Lemke, Mark Lemke, and Christina Buchinger. Her grandchildren are Lee Kandler, Crystal Whitcomb, Jennifer (Darrick) Whitehouse, Christopher Whitcomb, Brandon Swoboda, Bryan Muehlbach, Derek, Bryce, and Brent Buchinger. Additional survivors include Bob’s children: James (Bonnie) Smith, Craig (Beth) Smith, Clark (Pat) Smith, Colleen (Dennis) Diedrick, and Carl (Donna) Smith., along with their children Jeremy (Becca) Smith, Jolie (Jake) Wavrunek, Kortni, Haley, and Ryan Smith, Nathanial Smith, Tyler and Dion Diedrick, Celine (Corey) Gotay, and Ashley Smith. There are also six-great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Arda also leaves behind a brother: Tim (Vicky) Tousey; sisters: Gloria (Robert) Verkuilen and Jolayne (Ronald) Van Lankveldt; a sister-in-law Linda Tousey, her Aunt Gloria Kraft, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Tousey, daughters: Sandra and Belinda Lemke, and a son-in-law Dave Kobs.
Arda loved to golf, read, play cards and travel. She was a huge fan of Wisconsin Badger Sports and the Green Bay Packers. Arda used her talents at Trinity Lutheran Church for service at funeral dinners and other functions. She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Due to Covid-19 private services are being held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kaukauna with Rev. Mike Gehl officiating. Arda will be buried in the spring at Union Cemetery in Kaukauna.
When health restrictions are lifted, the family is planning a celebration of Arda’s life for her many relatives and friends.
