Anita T. Breit

Age 97, passed away at FHN Lena Nursing Home in Lena, Illinois on Wednesday, February 25, 2004. Anita was born in Hilbert, Wisconsin on November 26, 1906, daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Rach) Schmitz. On May 5, 1925 she married John Breit in Hilbert; he preceded her in death in May of 1947. For many years, Anita worked as a nurses' aide at the St. Paul Home in Kaukauna and was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church prior to moving to Illinois. Anita is survived by a son: Cyril "Cy" (Jean) Breit of Lena, Illinois; a son-in-law; Gerald Strong of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Duane (Darlene) Strong, John (Sue) Strong, Vicki (Jerome) Bobb, Greg Strong all of Pewaukee; Keith Strong of New London, Wisconsin, Faye (Craig) Heilman, Lynn (Kirk) Polhill of Lena, Illinois, Kenneth (Christine) Breit of Lisle, Illinois; seventeen great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1947, a son Kenneth in 1949, a daughter, Germaine Strong in May, 2000, brothers Elmer, Ray and Ally Schmitz, and a sister Erla Kleist.

The funeral liturgy for Anita will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 1, 2004 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, St. John. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9 AM until the hour of the services.
