Anita A. Bungert

Anita A. (Friemark) Bungert, age 87, of Appleton, WI, passed away on August 25, 2020.

Anita was born on February 16, 1933 in Waukesha, WI to the late Charles and Edith (Kronser) Friemark. She was united in marriage to the late Clarence Bungert on January 27, 1951 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville. Together they raised 4 wonderful children and spent 65 years together, until Clarence’s death 2016. Anita loved her Catholic faith and family. Spending time with them is what she cherished most of all.

Anita is survived by her children, Catherine (Paul) Wallace, Ann (John) Van Handel, Michael C. Bungert and Bob (Cyndee) Bungert; grandchildren, Paul (Corrina) Wallace, Jr., Kim (Robbie) Davister, Michael (Lisa) Van Handel, Amy (Ryan) Hanson, Daniel (Jeminah) Van Handel, Joanna (John) Richter, Mark Van Handel, Nicholas (fiancé, Melissa Liebhauser) Bungert and Casey (Joanne) Bungert; great-grandchildren, Aidan Wallace, Emersyn Wallace, Morgan Davister, Bryce Davister, Graham Davister, Bailey Davister, Joseph Van Handel, Jennifer Van Handel, Noah Van Handel, Alexander Hanson, Nolan Hanson, Claire Van Handel, Madeleine Van Handel, Greta Van Handel, Juliana Van Handel, Brian Richter, Luke Richter, Andrew Richter, Jack Van Handel, Riley Van Handel, Tyler Bungert, Caleb Bungert, Olivia Bungert and Ella Bungert; in-laws, Donald (Barb) Bungert and Betty Friemark; numerous other dear family and friends.

In addition to her husband, parents and all of her siblings, Anita is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Van Handel, in-laws, Mahlon (Irene) Bungert and granddaughter-in-law, Molly Van Handel.

Due to the current circumstances, a PRIVATE Family Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Anita at 11 AM on Friday, August 28, 2020. The Mass may be viewed via Livestream on the day of the Mass by visiting this obituary page.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the staff of St. Paul Elder Services for their exceptional care of their mother, especially over the past few months.
