Angeline Nowak, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Appleton. She was born on March 9, 1936, in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of George and Verma (Howard) Brown. Angie lived in Milwaukee, until she moved to Appleton to be closer to her family. In her time in Milwaukee, she worked for the City of Milwaukee as a public health nurse. She loved her grandchildren, great granddaughter, and cats, playing harmonica, spending time with her extended family and baking cookies with the neighborhood kids. Angie will forever be remembered as a welcoming and kind woman, who could light up a room simply by being in it.
Angeline is survived by her daughter: Lisa (Randy) Groff; grandchildren: Caleb (fiancé Kiera Thomas), Nicholas “Nicky”, and Abigail “Abby” Groff; great granddaughter: Gianna “Gigi” Groff; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Angeline was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert J. “Bob” Nowak, parents, and 3 brothers: George, Carl, and Benjamin Brown.
Family and friends are invited to greet, Angie’s family from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Wichmann Funeral Homes, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the African American Student Union at Appleton West High School, of Appleton, WI.
Mom, you are gone way too soon. I cherish the thought of you being reunited with Dad again. Give each other a hug from me!
