Dorschner, Alma M.
Alma M. Dorschner, age 80, of Appleton, died Friday evening, March 25, 2005, following a short illness. She was born June 27, 1924, to the late Henry and Bertha (Driessen) Winius, in Little Chute and had been an Appleton resident since her marriage to Gilbert P. Dorschner. Alma and her husband owned and operated Gil and Alma's Tavern, on North Appleton Street, until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Alma is survived by three children, Darlene (Jack) Vande Voort, Larsen; Gary (Peggy) Dorschner, Menasha; Deborah Kirk, Hortonville; six grandchildren, Vicky (Doug) Nau, Jackie (Mark) Dunn, Travis (Becky) Kirk, Amberlee Kirk, Leonard Dorschner and Raymond Dorschner; four great grandchildren, Britney Lyn Dunn, Taylor Kirk, Makenzie Buschke and Seth Kirk; four brothers, Harold (Isabel) Winius, Lester (Pat) Winius, Joseph Winius and Henry (Claire) Winius, Jr.; four sisters, Ann Dercks, Alice "Honey" Hermus, Martha Haupt and Harriet Nasch; her long time companion, her dog Trent; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert P. Dorschner, three brothers, Ray Winius, William Winius and Albert Winius and a sister, Agnes Sporakowski. Funeral services for Alma will be held at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the funeral home, with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 pm, Tuesday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
