Died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 22, 2002. She was born in Appleton on May 19,1904, and was a resident all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Frederich and Augusta (Boelter) Juhnke; siblings Rudolph, Emma and August Juhnke; and her husband Dodge Bruch to whom she was married for 52 years. Alma's survivors include her daugher Shirley Fominaya of Appleton, and her son David Bruch of Ironwood, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A faithful member of St. Matthew Evangelical Church in Appleton she was active in many areas of the church including the Ladies Aid, and the church choir. She also sang in the Chaminade Chorus in Appleton. Alma worked for many years as a bookkeeper at the YMCA and was a member of the YMCA Auxillary. She was also a desk clerk at the Conway Hotel.
Vistitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2002, at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Superior Street in Appleton. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Martin Rugge officiating. Entombment will take place at the Star of Hope Chapel Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park. Granddaughters Deidre Bacco and Toni Ferguson will present a special musical memorial preceding the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a memorial fund.
