Allison Mary Twomey, age 37, the beloved daughter of Fr. Patrick and Mrs. Catherine Twomey, died of respiratory failure on October 7, 2023.
Allison was born May 26, 1986 in Evanston, Illinois. She blessed her parents, sister Hannah, extended family, and many who loved and cared for her with her wonderful personality and zest for life. Allison was a consummate wheelchair dancer, especially with her dad as partner. She enjoyed an eclectic variety of music and proudly displayed her Motown-inspired moves. She enjoyed typing on her computer, doing sorting jobs, baking, cooking, and making phone calls. Allison also enjoyed outings with her parents and attending church with her mother. She and her mother shared an extraordinary love. Cathy consoled and comforted Allison as no one else could by singing to her and holding her. Their shared happiness and compassion are an example of love in its purest form.
Allison was a wonderful sister to Hannah and felt a deep love for her entire extended family. She also truly loved the many people who helped her: teachers, therapists, doctors, nurses, and caregivers. She had a delightful personality and a truly charming sense of humor. She will be missed and forever loved.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Nicholas Freeman, Dr. Ramana Marada, Dr. Anthony Zeimet, and the wonderful nursing staff of the St. Elizabeth Hospital ICU and Fremont 4 who cared for Allison with expertise, devotion, and compassion in her final days.
Allison is survived by her parents, Patrick and Cathy; her grandfather, Jerry Henry; six uncles: James Twomey, Kevin (Debbie) Twomey, Nick (Rose) Twomey, Dave (Clare) Henry, Joe (Melanie) Henry, Andy Henry; five aunts: Sharon Swift, Julie (John) Mangliers, Lisa (Jim) Yurkovich, Geralyn (Dan) Kwit, Natalie Cole; eighteen cousins: Cyrus, Thea, Levon, LuLu, Hollis, Colleen, Matthew, Natalie, John, Jamie, Michael, Stephen, Chrissie, Spencer, Olivia, Nolan, Griffin, Sebastian, and James.
