Allene Janice Dell, 89, of Dothan, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 29, 2014. She was born to Clinton and Emma (Rasmussen) Dissmore on March 6, 1925 and spent the early part of her life in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Her father was a farmer and beekeeper. During her senior year of high school she worked as a bookkeeper in the afternoons at the Iverson Larson Lumber Company and continued there until her marriage to Benjamin Dell on August 22, 1945. She lived in Appleton until her husband passed away December 10, 1997. She then resided with each of her children, finally settling in Dothan. Allene loved to play the organ and piano, learning to play by ear on an old pump organ at a very young age, and was the church pianist for many years at Assembly of God churches in Appleton. In Dothan, she was a member of Christ Church International.
She is survived by her children, Arloa (Ron) Evans, Glen (Jann) Dell, Wanda (Surendra) Bhatt, Susan (Lynn) Jerrett, and Kenneth (Donna) Dell; grandchildren, Adriane (Drake) Adams, Andrea Evans, Michael (Brooke) Evans, Andrew (Rachel) Dell, Peter (Rachel) Dell, Arun Bhatt, Heather (Michael) Davies, Holly Jerrett, Christina Jerrett, Ethen Dell, and Caleb Dell; great-grandchildren, Aislinn Adams, Ana Adams, Duncan Adams, Malcolm Adams, Megan Evans, Molly Evans, Ezekiel Dell, and Hezekiah Dell; brothers, David (Barbara) Dissmore, Lewis (Linda) Dissmore, and Roger Dissmore; several nieces and nephews. Allene was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Dell and a great-granddaughter, Grace Kathryn Dell.
The funeral service for Allene will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME downtown chapel, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton. Chaplain Ron Evans will be officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
