Alice S. Bley
Appleton
Age 82, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2001 at Franciscan Care Center following a five year illness with cancer. She was born on August 22, 1919 the daughter of the late Edwin and Emily (Stewert) Luedtke. In her early years, Alice married Eric “Mike” Stuewer in Appleton. He passed away in 1956. She married Edward J. Bley in Appleton and they enjoyed 26 beautiful years together. She was employed by Tuttle Press for 33 years retiring in 1982. Alice was a kind and gentle person who found much love and companionship with her Siberian Husky “Harley”.
Alice is survived by her husband Edward, her two sisters Anita Nelson of Waupaca and Adeline Brehmer of Fremont; a special sister-in-law Esther Stuewer of Appleton, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Vernon (Dorothy) Bley of Appleton.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 30, 2001 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 302 North Morrison Street with the Rev. Ralph Waack officiating. Entombment will take place at the Star of Hope Chapel Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. A memorial fund is being established.
