Alice Kinnear Denhard

DENHARD, ALICE K.

Alice K. Denhard, age 82, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. Alice was born on November 26, 1922, in Huntington, New York, to the late Alexander and Kathleen (Knight) Kinnear. She married Charles H. Denhard on January 17, 1953, in White Plains, New York and enjoyed 47 years of marriage; he preceded her in death on November 17, 2000. In her younger years Alice worked for Shell Oil in New York City, then retired to raise a family. She returned to work at First Federal Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was employed there until she was 68. Alice was a long time member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh, where she was devoted to working on the Altar Guild. She also enjoyed making crafts and helping with the annual Craft Fair. One of Alice’s favorite places was her cabin in the Catskill Mountains of New York. She spent many happy summers with her husband and family there. Alice moved to Appleton in 2001 and enjoyed her many friends and their activities at Ridgeview Highlands. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Keith) Spritz, Appleton; her son Charles (Shelly) Denhard, Elmwood Park, Illinois; and her three granddaughters, Sarah, Stephanie and Samantha Spritz, Appleton. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2005, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with The Rev. Patrick Twomey officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
