Nickel, Alice J. “Nannie”

Alice J. Nickel, age 76, of Appleton, died Tuesday morning, March 27, 2007. She was born February 4, 1931, to the late Charles and Ruth (Belheumer) Holzbach, in Milwaukee, until moving to Appleton in 2005. Alice enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, the outdoors, fishing and gardening. She is survived by seven children, Bruce (Nancy), Mary (Jeff) Ames, Ben (Laura), Bill (Cheryl), John (Linda), Chuck (Becky), Julie (Paul) Einseidel; 17 grandchildren; 1 ½ great grandchildren; a sister, Renee (Alvin) Verfuerth; and a brother-in-law, Joe Ledvina. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bill A. “Bumpy” Nickel, two granddaughters, Sasha and Christi Nickel, a brother, Dick Holzbach and a twin sister, Betty Ledvina. The funeral service for Alice will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the funeral home, with Father John Schuh officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 am, Saturday, until the time of the service. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
